An increased breast size for men, also called gynecomastia, can be a source for worry for any normal male. While it does happen to males during infancy and during puberty, anything besides that is already an abnormality.
Gynecomastia is commonly caused by an imbalance in the body’s sex hormones, androgen and estrogen. This can be aggravated by existing disease, medications and obesity.
Gynecomastia can carry with it the social stigma that may cause the sufferer to be depressed or have low self-esteem. It is unthinkable how a man who is supposed to be strong and well-built have the soft features of a woman. It makes their chances with the ladies very slim – after all, what woman would want to date a man with breasts like hers? A man’s social life can be hugely hindered by this condition. He cannot attend certain social events that require him to partially undress (beach or pool parties, swimming) and will have certain dress restrictions if he doesn’t want his enlarged breasts seen.
Good thing though that there are many tricks on how to hide man boobs, though not that publicised. Just like women’s shape sifting outfits, there is also some apparel that could help sculpt a man’s figure to appear normal or ideal. The following will share some tips on how to hide man boobs.
Bandages. This is a trick commonly seen in cross-dressing females in movies. Using a clean bandage, the person will wrap it tightly around their chest area so that the chest will appear flatter than their normal shape and size. Gauze bandages lets the skin breathe so the wearer won’t feel suffocated throughout the day. These need to be washed regularly in order to remove the accumulated dirt and sweat, thus preventing any skin allergies that might come from wearing dirty clothes.
Elastic shirts. As an alternative to bandages, super tight elastic shirts can also do the same thing as bandages. The only disadvantage of this is that it is not breathable and as soft as gauze bandages, so the wearer might feel a little out of breath when wearing it. Aside from that, elastic shirts do their jobs properly. Just make sure to wear this below your normal clothes.
Dark shirts. Dark shirts will hide the shadow that will otherwise form from the bulge on your chest area that will reflect on lighter-colored shirts. If the gynecomastia isn’t that noticeable, most men can pull off this look without needing surgical intervention.
Loose shirts. Just as super tight shirts can mask a man’s enlarged breasts, loose shirts can also hide the bulge forming on the chest. It is a way of masking the chest and making it look flatter than what it really is.
Overshirts or jackets. Overshirts can be used in order to mask man boobs as well. If worn over a really tight shirt (see bandages or elastic shirts), this can cover the presence of gynecomastia quite well. This is extremely useful during formal events that require a person to dress formally.
