In fact, the oldest age recorded for the Mediterranean tree was around 4000 years old. It’s leaves are arranged in a spiral manner and only reaches 2 inches long. To grow healthily, a Cupressus sempervirens requires clay soil or sand. It also requires a full amount of exposure to sunlight. Because of it’s height, cypress trees are often built to withstand windy.
Mediterranean cypress is cultivated particularly for commercial use. One important acquisition is the essential oils it contains. The Cypress oil, which has a refreshing, woody and spicy smell, creates a calming effect on an individual. Many people use this herb to ease anger, stress and irritability. Its antispasmodic property also helps relax uterine muscles to prevent abdominal cramping during menstruation. it also relaxes the nerves to prevent arthritic attacks.
Cypress oil can be prepared various ways depending on the effect wanted. It can be placed in vaporizers to help rid of pulmonary problems as well as provide a calming environment. It can be mixed with ate to be use in bath or compress to help soothe the body from its many problems.
Although Mediterranean Cypress has numerous uses, there has been no recent study regarding its effects on hormonal imbalance specifically that of estrogen. No references has also been made regarding its effectiveness in treating gynecomastia in men.
